Updates

This is a new update of Rules for the Games category.

After discussion, the Games category now accepts applications for subjects from mobile and web games. “Mobile” games are for mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets (e.g. games from iTunes or Google Play). “Web” games are web-based/browser-based games (e.g. Neopets and Facebook games). As a result, the following changes have been made:

• A new subcategory called Mobile & Web Games has been created.
• The subcategory previously known as “Computer, Console, Video, & Web Games” has been renamed to Computer, Console, & Video Games.
• Existing web-based games have been moved to “Mobile & Web Games”.

Please note the following rules regarding “Mobile & Web Games”:

• Only legitimate applications are approvable. Mere clones and copies (ex: Flappy Bird clones) are not approvable. Fan games are not approvable under “Mobile & Web Games” but may be approvable under the “Fan Works” subcategory.
• All applications must include the publisher’s name. For example, if you are applying for the game Candy Crush Saga, the publisher’s name is King, and you must include that in the application (e.g. “Candy Crush Saga (King)”). Please also include a link to where the game can be accessed or purchased (e.g. the Facebook application page or an iTunes or Google Play link).
• Games without official publishers (e.g. games made by individuals) must include a link to where the game can be accessed.
• Web games must include a link to where the game can be accessed.
• Fanlistings for characters, relationships, etc. from mobile or web games should be applied for in the Characters, Relationships, or other relevant subcategories.
