General TFL Guidelines

  • Please make sure you've read the rules carefully and checked the approved section before applying.
  • If you're applying for more than one fanlisting, please use a separate form for each fanlisting you want.
  • If the fanlisting you want fits into more than one category, please apply in both categories. This does not apply to certain categories, however. Please check the rules and category list pages for more information.
  • Name, Email, HTML Example and subject are required fields. Your application will NOT go through unless you fill in these fields.
  • Your HTML Example must be your own work. Applications submitted with a link to a website designed and built by someone else will be rejected.
  • PLEASE NOTE: there is a limit on the number of upcoming fanlistings an owner may have. If you have:
    - 6 fanlistings upcoming in a category and/or
    - 20 fanlistings upcoming at the network
the staffer has the right to reject your application out-right or until you complete some of your upcoming fanlistings..
If some of these are pending finished forms being processed, include the completed URLs in your application form.
Do not use more than one email address to apply for your fanlistings.

Specific Songs: Female Solo Rules

  • When applying, you must specify the singer as well as the name of the song you wish to apply for.

  • **We do NOT approve collaborations (for example, Gwen Stefani featuring Eve - Rich Girl). If the fanlisting you wish to apply for features two artists, apply in the Songs: Various category.

  • If a song has not yet been released but been performed (on tour, talk shows, award shows, etc), you may still apply for it in this category. Additionally, if it has been played on the radio or a music video has been released, you may apply. Please provide proof of any of the previously mentioned criteria in your application. Leaked internet copies do not count. If I can find no record of it, your application will be deleted.

  • You must provide an information link that also has the release date, such as Wikipedia (in the 'More Info?' box) or your application will be deleted.

  • In the Subcategory your fanlisting belongs in (if applicable) field on the apply form, please write the name of the artist. Write the name of the song in the Subject of your fanlisting field.

  • Songs relating to anime/manga or games will only be approved if they are the opening/ending theme OR found on a release not pertaining to the series. For example, Utada Hikaru's song "Hikari" would be listed in Songs: Female Solo despite being the Kingdom Hearts theme song because it was released on one of her own original albums. However, the song "Ai wo Shinjiteru" by Kotono Mitsuishi cannot be listed here as it is a character song from the anime "Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon" and must therefore be applied for at The Anime Fanlistings Network. In short, if it isn't on a non-anime/game release, it doesn't go here! You are responsible for crosslisting your fanlisting to other applicable categories!

  • For songs in languages other than English:
    - Try to include non-translated song title in it's original characters

  • NOT Acceptable in this category:
    - 'Songs of...' fanlistings
    - Concert/Tour Versions of songs
    - Female Musicians (Apply in the Musicians: Female category)
    - Songs by female groups (Apply in the Songs: Bands/Groups category)
    - Collaborations (Apply in the Songs: Various category [see above for note])
    - Songs by reality contestants (American Idol, etc) that have not been released on a cd/performed somewhere other then the show. (Apply in the Songs: Various category)
    - Songs tied exclusively to anime/manga (Apply at The Anime Fanlistings Network)
    - Songs tied exclusively to games (Apply in the Games category)
    - Songs sung in character for a film/television show (Apply in Songs: Various)

If you apply for something that does not belong in this category, your application will be returned to you.

  • How to improve your approval chances:
    - If you're unsure about the title of a song or who performs it, look it up on either Wikipedia, Google.com or Amazon.com before applying.
    - Provide any extra details about the song that you may have (i.e. what album it can be found on) in the More Information field on the form. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE LYRICS.

Did You Know?

If your fanlisting belongs in more than one category, it is up to you to cross-list your fanlisting in all of those categories. Your fanlisting will not automatically be listed in other categories.
