Full Version: Confused About Crosslisting

I am working on a fanlisting to the Tsuchinoko. However, I am having a problem as to how to crosslist it. I applied for it in the Games category for Miscallany since it appears in Metal Gear Solid as a Character/Item. However, it also appears in Castlevania as a Character/Item. How do I show that I mean the Tsuchinoko from both series?

Also, this fanlisting could fit in the Animals, Myths/Religions, Collectables, and Miscellaneous.

I'm really confused here, so any help would be very appreciated.

Alright, I'm not a staffer, but here's my best guess.

If you want a fanlisting for the overall character, not any particular version, apply for it in the Mythology/Religion category, as Other Mythology: Japanese Mythology: Tsuchinoko.

On the other hand, if you like a particular version, apply for it specifically from that game, as a character, I believe. I don't think you can crosslist those, as it's not the same character appearing in multiple games, but rather as different creatures based off of the same mythological idea.

Like I said, I'm not a staffer, but I still hope that helped. smile.gif

As for Animals, mythological creatures cannot be applied in it.

*points to Rinoa's post* That pretty much sums it up. smile.gif If you want to apply for the creature in general, then apply in Mythology/Religion. You can't apply for mythical creatures in Animals, as Julie pointed out. If you applied in Games, then your fanlisting must be for that specific character as it appears in the game. You would need a separate fanlisting for the mythological creature (in general) and a separate fanlisting for the creature as it appears in the Castlevania games - so, three separate fanlistings.

Thanks a lot for answering my question! I will go do that now.
